AC Shadows Unveils Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavernโa significant location from Attack on Titanโto rescue her friend from a clandestine group.
The mission focuses on "strange tests and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's third free story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
